All My Blog Posts for the Colorado Trail Below:

It took four summers for me to complete the 484.6 miles of the Colorado Trail. I did day trips, back packing trips, solo trips, trips with friends, and trips with my fiancee and his kids. Despite our amazing experience, we faced many challenges along the way. We ran out of water. We aborted one outing due to continuous rain. We evacuated a friend with altitude sickness. And we took a few detours. But most of all, we finished with an amazing sense of accomplishment after admiring spectacular beauty. The wildflowers were wonderful. The views, tremendous. The experience, priceless!

Note: Trail maintenance takes place every year. Sometimes the trail is adjusted due to avalanche debris and the like. I highly recommend downloading the Colorado Trail app which provides detailed camping and water locations along with up to date conditions from current hikers. When I started hiking the Colorado Trail, the app hadn’t been completed. It is much more accurate than the data books were, though now I suspect they are all updated now. More information may be found at the Colorado Trail Foundation’s website.
